Our owner, Andy Taray has been developing concepts and handprinting goods for The Social Dept. Clothing Brand since 2006. What started as a fun local pride concept and a way to step away from the screen and get some ink on your hands, has turned into a full brand of its own.
The Social Dept. is an Akron, Ohio based company that specializes in hand-screened clothing, home goods, and poster prints. A true Mom and Pop shop owned and operated by Christy (Mom) and Andy (Pop) Taray. We take a lot of pride in our process and work hard to develop ideas from hand drawn sketch to the final handprinted item. Our catalog of nearly 400 designs has a little bit of everything for people from a little bit of everywhere depicting regional, state and municipal pride in our country’s diverse food, beer, sports, and movie culture.
