FAQS

Below is a list of Frequently Asked Questions… or not so frequently asked questions.
Let us know if you need any further clarification and we will be glad to assist you.

HOW MANY PEOPLE WORK AT OADC?

Ohioboy Art & Design Co is made up of me, Andy and a laundry list of collaborators we have worked with over the years. Big believer in working with highly talented professions that meet the needs of each individual project.

ARE YOU AVAILABLE FOR CONTRACT WORK?

Yes. We have a large roster of clients and continuously adding to the party. Being small helps us be extremely flexible to the project needs.

DO YOU WORK ON-SITE?

Yes. We operate mostly out of our studio / retail space but we are available to work on-site on a per project basis. Let us know what you have in mind?

WHAT CHARACTER FROM A 1980s SITCOM IS OHIOBOY?

Funny you should ask… We are a combination of equal parts Jack Tripper from Three’s Company and Irwin "Skippy" Handelman from Family Ties. We like to have a good time at the Regal Beagle, but we will continually show up to have a heart to heart at your kitchen table.

MOST UNIQUE EXPERIENCE IN THE GRAPHIC DESIGN BUSINESS?

Without a doubt… going to the Grammy’s!!! We were nominated for Best Record Packaging and got to go out for the event. Talk about unique experience. Wowza… sitting with fellow nominees, walking the red carpet, meeting The Roots, seeing star after star, the after parties. Just an incredible experience.

SAMMY OR DAVE?

Um… please. David Lee Roth is an honorary member of the OADC team and looked upon as a true legend. At some point we will build a statue of him here at the shop.

HOW MANY BOOKS HAVE YOU DONE?

In working through our new website and portfolio we did a little inventory and realized we have worked on just shy of 100 books. That’s bonkers! Kind of made me feel like the Tito Puente of graphic design.

DO YOU HAVE AN INTERNSHIP PROGRAM?

YES!!! We do have an internship program and have an intern most summers we have been in business. If you would like to send in your info for a potential internship please send samples of your work, a resume, and a brief little introduction of what makes you, you. Don’t send a traditional cover letter… they are way too stuffy for us. Just a little summary of what you like, what inspires you and what toppings you most enjoy on your pizza.

WHAT DESIGNERS INSPIRE YOU?

Many. Good work is good work… doesn’t have to come from some big fancy name in the game. Some of my favorite designs are record covers from small studios like ours.
